1. Some main points that summarize the essence of the short documentary "America by the numbers" are
- Millennials make up 25% of the population and 1 out of 5 Millenials are Latino, so it is also important to be marketing to them because they are a big part of the future.
- Lots of growing cities such a Tampa have diversity growing by 3-5x the population.
- America is changing and the Latino population is growing at a rate of 164%. Businesses and corporations need to adapt to this fact.
- Diversity is a huge part of the United States and creating advertisements that cater to this is important.
- The rapid growth of the Latino community will continue, and keeping their culture alive is important in advertisements and in communities.
2. I would likely use facebook as a social media to reach Hispanic women in the United States. A few other social media that are good are Youtube and Facebook. according to Portada, Over 9 in 10 adult Hispanics own either a smartphone or a tablet. Facebook remains the most popular social channel for Spanish-dominant Latinas, allowing them to connect with family and friends daily. However, the adoption of emerging platforms and technologies continues to grow among Spanish-dominant Latinas in the U.S.
This Ulta advertisement is called beauty without limits, it shows lots of people applying makeup in all different circumstances following their dreams. The advertisement targets so many different types of people and shows that it's okay for all different types of people to use makeup. It shows, black people, gay people, white people, Hispanic people, among many other groups. Everyone can relate in some way to this video just like how everyone should be able to relate to the makeup products, not just one stereotype.
